PzGrenadiers are cool...

Played in a Flames of War tournament yesterday. Came in 9th of 12 but had a good time. Been over a year plus since I played FOW so I was quite rusty. But still came within a couple of 4+ rolls of winning two games instead of losing. So all in all a good effort.

40k Dark Vengeance

Got the new 40k Dark Vengeance box set this weekend. Very cool starter set with some very neat models. Being that Erik is a Dark Angel from way back, we have lots of Angels for these new guys to run with. While I am no chaos fan, the chaos chosen are very good looking models. Very good detail on the armor and such. Very old school looking boys that look like they have been around for a long time. And the chaos dreadnaught hellbrute is awesome. I bet when they get an equivalent model in the main line army with various weapon options, that joker will be in all armies. And the cultists are very cool. They need to make about 30 more of those guys that can be built in various poses and weapons and I can see chaos boys choosing those lesser chaosy lists in gaming.

Plus a small rulebook, which is boss!

All in all a good effort by GW.    

New Header!

I saw several headers for several blogs I follow and noticed a name kept popping up, Goatboy. So I tracked down Goatboy on his own site Full of Monkey and found out he will do a custom header for cheap! So I got him to work on me a Cadian header for my blog. I think it turned out nice. Thanks Goatboy! So go by his site and give him your money. It does your pages good!

Fire Dragon Shrine army grows

Finished up putting together 10 dire avengers and 10 guardians last evening. I am sending these off to Blue Table Painting to paint and match my existing Fire Dragon Shrine Army. Now the boys are all off to college, I have time to do things I want to do. Been many a year since I didnt "have" to be somewhere every weekend doing something children related. Now I miss it to be sure, but I bet I can fill my time doing something else...

Painting Done!

Did some painting over the last week getting ready for a flames of war tournament. I painted 7 STUGs, 1 king tiger, 2 German trucks, 3-M7 Priests, M20, Piper Cub scout plane, 1 staff team, and 1 halftrack. So a pretty positive week. Lets home I can win a game or two this weekend.

Last week worked on 40k stuff. Got 5 deathwatch tactical marines put together to join the grey knights dread knight I finished the week before.

I have got to get this blogging thing going better...
